The plans for the new Bristol Rovers stadium.

Planners have recommended the £40 million pound project for approval.

South Gloucestershire Council meet next Thursday (19th July) to discuss the plans for the 21,700 seater stadium.

The new ground will be next to Hewlett Packard's Bristol base near Stoke Gifford. It will be a partnership with the University of the West of England who own the land. A media study centre and other teaching space will be built as a part of the plans.

Approval will be subject to £140,000 being paid towards parking schemes to minimise the impact on local residents.

It's thought the stadium could also be used for Bristol Rugby matches and other events like concerts.

Rovers hope to be in their new home in time for the 2014-15 season.
